Why do you need a credit card to make an offer? Is my information safe?

We require a $500 hold on your credit card in order to ensure that your offer is earnest, and to prevent anyone from artificially inflating the price of the home. The initial fee is just a hold and will only be captured if the seller approves your offer. If your offer is not approved, the hold is returned automatically within seven days. Additionally, if your offer is approved, the $500 charge is credited towards the Platform Fee which becomes due when the seller approves your offer.
Please note that if you provide a debit card for the initial offer fee, the $500 will be deducted from your account immediately. For this reason, we recommend buyers only use credit cards during this step.
Faira never sees your credit card information. All of our credit card transactions are processed securely by Stripe, one of the world’s most trusted credit card processors, and is never viewable by anyone at Faira.
